Keithley 2308 – Precise simulation of batteries and chargers for mobile devices
The Keithley Model 2308 is specifically designed for testing mobile phones and other portable, battery-powered devices. As a highly dynamic battery and charger simulator, it ensures precise power delivery and rapid response to load changes—ideal for devices with pulsating operation or rapid transitions between standby and transmit modes.
Thanks to its fast load regulation, the output voltage remains stable even during abrupt load changes, enabling realistic tests without any malfunction of the test object – a clear advantage over conventional power supplies with sluggish response.
With two independent channels—one for simulating a battery with variable internal resistance settings and one for charger testing—the Model 2308 offers a complete solution for power supply and precise current measurement. It enables both the simulation of discharged batteries and the testing of the charging electronics of mobile devices.
With its ability to reliably measure very low quiescent currents as well as short current pulses (from 50 µs), the Model 2308 is the perfect choice for characterizing the energy consumption of modern mobile electronics – from sleep mode to high-performance operation.
